Summary

As an illustration of cruising life on board Bagadeus, this section provides details of five cruises made by the owners, the first four during her first year.

Since these cruises were made, various improvements were made to Bagadeus: in 2004 a bow thruster and ducted warm-air central heating were fitted and in 2010 an updated chartplotter and digital radar were fitted together with an AIS transponder.

Bagadeus' first trip was made on 21st February 2002, the day following her Handover, when the owners took her from Sparkes' Marina in Chichester Harbour, one of Opal Marine's bases, to Port Hamble Marina in the Hamble River.  Hardly a cruise, but it was her first trip.

The first real cruise by the owners was a five-day trip in May around the Solent area; details can be found on the 'Solent Area' page.

The next cruise, in August 2002, was a six-day return trip Weymouth, calling also at Lymington, Yarmouth and Lulworth Cove.  Details are on the 'Weymouth' page.

The fourth cruise was a twenty-six day, 700 mile cruise to the Scillies and back.  Details are on the 'Isles of Scilly' page.

There have been many cruises since then to the West Country, to France, and one along the South Coast to the Thames Estuary and on to St Katherine's Yacht Haven at Tower Bridge.
